The TMD2635 is an advanced IR proximity sensor module suited for short range proximity measurement detection and offered in the industry's smallest size (1.0mm x 2.0mm) and thin (0.5mm) optical land grid array module that incorporates a 940nm IR VCSEL and is factory calibrated for IR proximity response. The proximity detection feature provides nearby object detection by photodiode detection of reflected IR energy sourced by the integrated VCSEL emitter. Sensitivity, power consumption, and noise can be optimized with adjustable timing and power. Detect/release events can be interrupt driven, and occur when proximity result crosses upper and/or lower threshold settings. The proximity engine features advanced crosstalk noise cancellation through a wide range offset adjustments to compensate for unwanted IR energy reflection at the sensor. Proximity results are further improved by automatic ambient light subtraction.

The TSL2540 is a very-high sensitivity light-to-digital converter that approximates the human eye response to light intensity under varying lighting conditions and transforms this light intensity to a digital signal output capable through a 1.8V I²C interface. The ALS sensor features 2 output channels, a visible channel and an IR channel. The visible channel has a photodiode with a photopic Interferometric UV and IR blocking filter and the IR channel has a photodiode with an IR pass filter. Each channel has a dedicated integrating data converter which converts photodiode current into a 16-bit digital output. This digital output can be interfaced with a microprocessor where illuminance in lux is derived to accurately measure ambient light to control a displays backlight.

The TCS3408 is an ultra-high sensitivity light-to-digital converter that features ambient light and color (RGB) sensing and selective flicker detection. The ambient light and color sensing function provide five concurrent ambient light sensing channels: Red, Green, Blue, Clear, and Wideband. The RGB and Clear channels have a UV/IR blocking filter. This architecture accurately measures ambient light and enables the calculation of illuminance, chromaticity, and color temperature to manage display appearance. The architecture of the engine features self-maximizing dynamic range, ambient light subtraction, data output and interrupt-driven 1.8V I²C communications interface. The device integrates direct detection of 50Hz or 60Hz ambient light flicker. Flicker detection is executed in parallel with ambient light and color sensing has independent gain configuration and also suppresses cross-coupling from any 940nm IR, if generated by adjacent circuits (e.g. from a Time-of-Flight sensor). The flicker detection engine can also buffer data for calculating other flicker frequencies externally.
